JukeZilla (Nissan Juke-R) gets its skeleton

Nissan has released the third installment of the build of the Juke-R; a car that mates the good parts of the Nissan GT-R supercar slayer with the, erm, good looks of the Juke compact crossover.

The new film, entitled 'The Build Begins', takes over from the previous edition with a large hole cut into the floor pan of the Juke shell through which the engineers from RML weld in a motorsport spec rollcage and various mounting points for the plethora of GT-R components - most notably the front suspension pick up points.

Part four will be the exciting bit as it will show the GT-R's twin-turbocharged V6 being installed in an engine bay that was originally designed to accommodate a 1.6-litre four-pot.

While the Juke-R is being billed as the fastest crossover in the world the reveal, as detailed in these videos, has to be one of the slowest. We just want to hear the 470bhp 3.8-litre engine fire into life but it will probably be video ten by the time that happens...

VIDEO 3 - THE BUILD BEGINS - Having tested that the Nissan GT-R systems work perfectly in a shortened wheelbase, the team starts to build the Juke-R. Work begins on constructing a complex roll cage inside the Juke's body shell, as well as the structure that will house the GT-R's engine, drivetrain and other vital systems.
